Article Written By : Sudha Ambikadas

Bhrighati means large, expanded form, Sahasra means a thousand.

Devoting the prayers to Lord Maha Vishnu, in whose heart lies Sri Maha Lakshmi (Srinivasa), who is the savior. When we offer our prayers through learned pandits, called Vaadyaar’s who belong to Brahmin community, we are honoring Maa Saraswati also.

The Pooja is elaborated with 1000 archanai daily on 100 kalashashombus.

The Homam is done again to protect the intention and intensity of the poojai. The homam is a Maha Sudarshanam.

The 1000 namaskarams to be completed in sets, this is an exercise done on our behalf by two or more appointed BrahmanaVaadyaars, who understand the importance and can coordinate with the archanai, timing themselves, and do not shirk from the task and participation is whole hearted. Try doing it, it is not an easy one.

A Brahmin is one whose life purpose is to guide others on the path of righteousness through surrender and devotion to the Divine.

He is one who does not spend time on his own self, is always either trying to root out a problem faced by one who approaches him, reading scriptures, trying to understand better use of the same or else at the feet of the divine. He is supposed to be well versed with the planetary positions and astrology as well. He teaches the client to mark the efficiency of time. Timely acts – timely rituals – timed havans and poojas have a greater impact than those where time is not a consideration.

The right havans/rituals/poojas done at the right timing take you beyond the boundaries of time and space. Obstacles are released. Abundance in prevalent.

In the yesteryears, the Brahmin would perform a pavmaanampaarayanam for a specified number of days after performance of a ritual at a persons place, but since that does not seem possible in todays electronic world, the knowledgable Brahmin performs the required number of recitions alongside the Havan he conducts.

And giving in daanam, ie, humbly donating to the Brahmins with due respect, gives benefits great.

Here in the process of the Bhragati Sahasra, we shall donate a count of 11 kalashams to the Brahmins. 7 will be donated towards the positive enhancement of the KalatraSthanam, that is improving relationships with the spouse., and 4 for the activation for the sukhasthaanam, the fourth house in one’s horoscope, increased abundance and luxuries.

Stringing gold, silver, pearl and coral, and donating the same to 7 brahmins, gives ones IndraBalam – means the power of Lord Indra.Lord Indira – the Kong of heavens – ruler responsible for rain & thunder, was the one who never faced struggle and live life of comfort and ease, and had a harem of apsaras besides his beloved wives.Indra is known as Sakra in Buddhism and he rules the 33 gods. Whatever be his vices, Lord Indra always had the support of the Medicine Devas – The AshwininKumars, and Goddess Saraswati, always getting antidotes from the demons to restore the god to his senses after over intoxication. So this IndraBalam also in turn makes you physically strong with the right help always available.

The pooja is a rare one to perform and can be counted to a limited few to have got it performed. It has to be done in utmost secrecy, place chosen with care, no internal or external disturbances are entertained so the successful completion can yield good results.

Only the karta is allowed with his family. ShagunShastra is checked for each new round of avartis that begins.

Great care is taken to feed the Vaadyaars the right energetic food that is nutritious – blends with the shashtras and does not make them lethargic.

Each time a Vaadyaar uses the loo, he needs to bathe and change the set of clothing.

Vastra supply is done in ample, the comfort zone of the Vaadyaars is priority here.

The poojas and homams organized by us are planned in such a way (care to make the person favourable to the clients star – who is at the same time well read – to sit for the pooja so as to bring favourable results) that the client is able to see subtle changes which are progressive in a sublte manner. Subtle changes are so welcome since they are so delicate and precise. There is an art of evaluation the cost of the pooja which will vary from person to person, and yes Time is the Game factor.
